Sue Wilkins, Counsellor & Psychotherapist, Alresford Hampshire

About me

I have worked as a psychotherapist, counsellor, supervisor and trainer for over 20 years, in private practice, the NHS, the charitable sector, and further education.

I am registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and a member of the Regent’s School of Psychotherapy & Psychology (RSPP).

 My background

I came to counselling and psychotherapy after an initial career in nursing and social work which then inspired me to train as a counsellor, psychotherapist and clinical supervisor.

As a senior manager I have led teams of therapists in both adult and children’s hospices for many years, worked for 7 years as a GP surgery-based counsellor in Primary Care alongside my private practice.

For many years I developed and delivered training courses for counsellors, volunteers and health care professionals.

In further education I was part of a team delivering accredited Diploma level training and supervision to student counsellors.

My training required me to have personal therapy for a minimum of five years, so I know what it is like to be a client myself.
